Pudacuo
Shangri-La's alpine national park — Shudu and Bita lakes ringed by spruce forest and highland meadows.
A high-altitude national park outside Shangri-La, made up of Shudu Lake, Bitahai and spruce meadows, with clear water and boardwalks threading the forest — the best-preserved stretch of ecology in northwest Yunnan. About 30 minutes' drive from Dukezong Old Town.

Know before you go
At around 3,500 m with long boardwalks, it is more tiring than it looks. Some visitors find the ticket expensive relative to what they see, especially on an overcast day — it rewards level expectations.
